PATRENZA Wood shutters are made from selected premium Basswood, Cedar and Phoenix wood. All timbers used are sourced from trees planted and grown specifically for the purpose of manufacturing shutters. The timbers are kiln dried to suit the air moisture and climate of Australia, kiln drying is done to all of our timbers to ensure the stability of the shutters upon installation. All of our timbers are quarter sawn. In quarter-sawing, the wood is harvested from tree logs in a way that makes it less suceptible to inherent cupping, twisting and warping. Cuts are made parallel to the woods medullary rays instead of across, which gives the wood more strength and stability.
